Julie Bindel: If gutless Keir Starmer doesn’t stand up for women on the trans issue, I’ll never vote Labour again

A piece in yesterday’s Mail. Has there ever been a journalist who gets away with basically repeating themself endlessley? It’s the usual predictable stuff we’ve read so many times before, but this caught my eye:

I don’t for a moment believe that Starmer thinks a man becomes a woman through the power of a piece of paper and a repeated chant of the magical words: ‘Trans women are women.’

Anyone of basic intelligence knows that is fundamentally wrong — and the Labour leader’s intelligence is far more than basic. I know, because I worked alongside him when he was Director of Public Prosecutions more than a decade ago. [J4MB emphasis]

Back then, he was intent on protecting women by improving the conviction rates for rape, sexual assault, domestic violence and murder.

Starmer was the DPP over 2008-13. In 2015 he was elected as the MP for the safe Labour seat of Holborn and St Pancras.

Does it really need pointing out that the job of the DPP is not to ‘improve’ (i.e. increase) conviction rates for rape or any other crimes? Radical feminists’ corruption of Starmer, possibly our next Prime Minister, couldn’t be clearer. Bindel’s complaint is that on the trans issue, he’s been corrupted by the wrong radical feminist ideologues.

I refer the reader to two recent excellent articles by Professor Janice Fiamengo:
