One-in-10 babies are born with some kind of foetal alcohol disorder in Ireland every year, says HSE

Our thanks to Steve for this. A World Health Organisation study estimated that Ireland had the third-highest rate of FASD globally, at 47.5 per 1,000 population.

In our manifesto (pp.28-30) we link to a 2018 UK study that concluded up to 17% of babies born in the UK (one in six) are born with some kind of foetal alcohol disorder. This is Grievous Bodily Harm inflicted by women on the most vulnerable. Women must be held legally accountable for it.
