Our thanks to Douglas for this. He writes:
Story from Ireland. Perhaps no surprise for those of us who have been in touch with this issue for years. Overwhelmingly female perpetrators, low level of reporting due to fears of separation from children and being disbelieved. A ray of hope in that the existence of International Men’s Day appears to have been a catalyst in the Republic for the victims commissioner to at least pay some attention, as was the case in England. Shows the importance of things like IMD in politics, forcing at least a mention from some of the political/administrative elite. I’m not fool enough to think there is anything other than a mountain to climb. But these are chinks in the successful “no platforming” the feminists deploy to simply make boys and men vanish.
Our last general election manifesto is here.
