Esther Vilar’s The Manipulated Man is a remarkable book. First published in a German-language edition in 1971 – 50 years ago – it was published in an English-language edition the following year.
It recently came to my attention that the book – the English-language edition, at least – is no longer available to buy on Amazon, as either a paperback or Kindle ebook. The publisher (Pinter & Martin, London) informs me they’re out of stock of the paperback, and don’t expect delivery of more stock for the next two weeks (in the UK, at least). They confirm that Amazon pulled the book from sale, without explanation.
The ebook is currently available from the Google Play store for £7.99 – here. I strongly recommend you buy a copy there asap in case it’s withdrawn at some point. You don’t need an e-reader to read it.
