Of course it can never be admitted that one of the reasons women incline towards subjects like the creative arts (female-dominated) is that they’re less demanding and more emotionally rewarding than male-dominated subjects such as economics and engineering. Dr Warren Farrell nailed the issue of occupational preferences in Why Men Earn More: the startling truth behind the pay gap and what women can do about it (2005).
