I’m constantly being asked for personal grooming and fashion tips, as you might imagine. I usually keep my expertise in these areas under wraps, but I’m making an exception today.
Obviously any self-respecting man wouldn’t buy any Gillette products today – or indeed anything sold by P&G – and he’d be instructing his woman (if he has one) to do likewise. I have no idea why anyone would buy Gillette products when equally good (if not better) alternatives are available for less, without the anti-male advertising.
Ever the sophisticated man-about-town, I recently bought a Tesco razor with five triple-bladed cartridges, a steal at just £2.00. I can honestly say it’s at least as good as any razor I’ve ever used, and better than the vast majority. 10 spare cartridges cost £3.00, and each cartridge is good for at least a week. I returned to my local store and bought five packs of ten cartridges, which has set me up for my next 12 months’ shaving at a total cost of just £17.00, about 4.6p/day. It’s true what they say in their advertising:
Tesco. Every little helps.
