We are trying to highlight the fact that the current Violence Against Women and Girls Strategy discriminates against male victims, who are (in theory) protected under this act as well.
There is currently a consultation (ending on the 19th). The consultation says: “We are particularly keen to hear from people who may feel underrepresented in previous strategies or who feel their circumstances were not supported by existing services.”

This consultation includes male victims as well, but the language in the consultation and the questions asked make it almost impossible for male victims to fill it out.
Our organisation GenderParityUK contacted the Human Rights and Equalities Commission to complain about this clear discrimination. Unfortunately, the Commission only accepts complaints from individuals that are personally experiencing the discrimination. That’s why we need a man with experience of abuse (by a woman), who has had negative experiences with the service provision for male victims by police, family court, Domestic Abuse services, or similar services.
We would like you to:
– Fill out this form to make an equalities complaint: http://www.equalityadvisoryservice.com/app/ask
– highlight that the violence against women and girls consultation excludes male victims due to its gendered language
– that the gendered language made it difficult for you to fill it out
– that it made it difficult to share this consultation with other male victims
– that the discriminatory language re-traumatises male victims and has the potential to trigger PTSD
– that the gendered nature of the consultation prevents male victims to participate which continues the underrepresentation of male victims
– that this leads to continued lack of services for male victims
It would be great if you could do this as soon as possible and keep us updated if you hear back from the commission.

Well now, Andrew O’Keefe is charged over domestic violence and then turns around and claims to have been the victim. What an extraordinary turn of events.
For those of you who haven’t followed this story which broke late January, Andrew O’Keefe was a former Channel Seven host but, more importantly, one of the founders of White Ribbon, a domestic violence organization which recruits men to denounce violence against women.
O’Keefe has been out there for years promoting misinformation about domestic violence, denying women’s role in family violence, and twisting statistics to promote feminist myths shaming men. Here’s Mark Latham debunking O’Keefe’s misrepresentation of our official statistics. And you might enjoy Latham having a very lively few rounds with O’Keefe here.
I had my own run in with O’Keefe when I was involved in organizing media interviews for the filmmaker Cassie Jaye, when she was in Australia speaking at an international men’s issues conference and promoting her movie The Red Pill. O’Keefe was then one of the hosts on the breakfast show Sunrise, and blatantly lied during the interview with Jaye, claiming they hadn’t been sent the movie. I then released the email correspondence with their producer from many weeks before, which included links to the documentary.
Watch O’Keefe’s appalling attack on Jaye, as he plays the indignant feminist apologist. This performance almost led to him being fired, after over 10,000 people signed a petition demanding he lose his job. But he survived… until now.
O’Keefe’s chickens come home to roost
On Jan 31, came news that he’d been charged with domestic assault of his partner, Dr Orly Lavee. According to The Daily Telegraph, police will allege O’Keefe punched Dr Lavee in the face, pulled her hair, kicked her in the back of her legs and spat on her.
Channel 7 immediately threw him under the bus with an announcement that he was no longer with the network, stressing that he had departed before getting into this spot of bother.
Next came White Ribbon hastily explaining that “White Ribbon Australia went into liquidation in 2019 and was relaunched under new management in 2020. Andrew O’Keefe has no role in this new chapter of White Ribbon Australia that has seen many changes to our approach and activities. We stand in solidarity with every victim and survivor of men’s violence against women, and believe men who use violence must be held to account.”
O’Keefe’s lawyer announced Dr Lavee’s allegations would be contested in court, stating that “O’Keefe was certainly not the aggressor in the situation. And Dr Lavee will have a lot to answer for.”
Orly responded that she was devastated that O’Keefe had implied she was the aggressor. “It was a reckless thing for the lawyer to say and is totally baseless,’ a Lavee friend told the Daily Mail.
So, here we are. Who knows the truth about what happened that night in Lavee’s Randwick apartment? Perhaps O’Keefe is telling the truth and wasn’t the aggressor, or at least not the only one?
But this arrogant feminist sycophant is about to discover he’ll be up against it convincing the courts, let alone the press, that he, a man, is telling the truth about what happened. He’s about to learn that whatever happens, most people will believe Dr Lavee with the result that his reputation, his career, his life will never be the same. Like men across the country, he’ll learn the consequences of the dangerous feminist rhetoric he’s been promoting for nearly a decade.
For me, the most amusing aspect of all this was that all the initial news stories mentioned the fact that Andrew O’Keefe in 2017 had received an Honours award, in part for his work with White Ribbon. But not one press story demanded his award be rescinded. Not one editorial, not one ABC commentator. Not one word from the Attorney Generals and politicians who lined up to condemn me for allegedly misrepresenting the truth about domestic violence.
The deathly silence from the woke, finger-wagging NSW Attorney General Mark Speakman is particularly telling.
Employment for falsely accused young men
Over the years I have tried to help a string of men dealing with our grossly unfair university kangaroo courts over false rape accusations. There’s often a real crisis when they are thrown out of colleges and lose scholarships and career prospects during the investigations.
I thought it might be worth a call out to those of you who run businesses, or simply are well-connected, to see if you could ever help with jobs for these smart young guys, even to get them through short-term emergencies. Right now, I am supporting a wonderful young Sydney doctor who lost his post-grad scholarship as a result of a false allegation which has just been thrown out of criminal court. If you have any ideas re possible employment for him, please let me know. He’s currently working as a waiter.
The True Crime Queen
Now for some good news – from Mothers of Sons. Last time I told you about this exciting new group of mothers who have decided to speak out, fighting for justice for their sons. Many of you may have watch the live Facebook launch at the start of February. You can watch the whole thing on the MOS Facebook page – they’ve had over 54,000 viewers.
They are receiving so much support, including donations to their crowd-funder, many new volunteers, mothers lining up to tell their stories – including one very well-known Mum, Robin Bowles, who wrote a best-seller about her own son’s huge battle.
Taken in Contempt tells the story of Robin’s grandson who was abducted by his mother and taken into hiding in France. Robin’s son followed him to France and spent 5 years unsuccessfully trying to get his only child returned to Australia. To remain close to him, Robin’s son obtained work in France and ended up staying in Paris for 12 years. The cost of the legal battle meant Robin and her other three sons were unable to see him for seven years – they didn’t have the funds to travel.
The book covered many cases of international parental child abduction – which occurs three times a week in Australia today. But this is only one of the 15 best-selling non-fiction books on crime written by Robin Bowles – leading to her reputation as Australia’s True Crime Queen. Imagine the excitement when the MOS mothers discovered Robin was willing to join their team. She’s had huge experience with the media having run her own communications company and spent decades appearing on radio and television. The plan is for Robin to interview new mothers on video for the website and also host MOS’ live events – starting with the next Facebook event on February 24 at 7.00 pm, when she will introduce viewers to a mother whose gobsmacking story says it all about justice for men in this country.
Hit job on Jordan Peterson
For those of you who missed the fuss about The Times article about Jordan Peterson, I urge you to take a look at what happened here because it is such a revealing demonstration of the duplicitous, malicious reporting that is dominating so much of mainstream media.
Jordan Peterson and his daughter were interviewed by a Times reporter Decca Aitkenhead about Jordan’s dreadful health battles over recent years. Here’s Jordan’s report on how he was seduced into the interview, which includes links to the recording he made of the interview and released after the hit piece was published.
There’s an important lesson there for anyone confronting a journalist these days, particularly about anything controversial. Insist on recording the interview. The fact that Jordan was able to release the recording of what happened makes this a very significant event for anyone interested in journalist ethics.
I won’t go into detail here of the many mistruths and distortions included in the Aitkenhead piece. If you’d like a detailed analysis listen to this discussion between Janice Fiamengo and Steve Brule which meticulously dissects the article.
And here is Douglas Murray writing about the whole business. Here’s Murray’s conclusion:
“In the end, what’s most striking about Peterson’s Sunday Times interview is how it proves that a certain type of journalist simply won’t give up. Even after all these years, the attempt to bring Peterson down continues. But by continuing their crusade, his detractors continue to ignore the most interesting thing about him: why it is that Peterson has made such a difference to peoples’ lives.
“For that is an unusual phenomenon; unusual on such a scale that you’d think a journalist might care to find out what is going on here. Yet once again, the person sent to do over Peterson was not acting as a journalist, but as an ideological opponent hoping to finally take him out. And once again, the person who came off worse was not the subject of the interview, but its author.”
Grim news for American men
Finally, next week I have arranged a live chat on thinkspot with American lawyer Cynthia Garrett, co-president of Families Advocating for Campus Equality (Face), which is an advocacy group working for fairness and due process in campus sexual misconduct cases.
Cynthia reports worrying signs that the Biden/Harris administration is determined to push for more unfair treatment for men in their courts. Joe Biden vowed to put a “quick end” to Betsy DeVos’s reforms to Title IX, which made some attempt to strengthen due process rights for the accused in sexual misconduct cases on American campuses.
