Why nearly 6,000 fare-paying women in Greater Manchester are set for free bus, tram and train travel

Our thanks to Bryn for this. He writes:

Surely this is illegal?

We shall see.

Pretty Little Thing: ‘Overly sexualised’ advert banned

Our thanks to Kate for this. The start of the piece on the BBC website:

An advert for fashion retailer Pretty Little Thing which featured women wearing exposing lingerie has been banned for being “offensive”.

The YouTube ad presented the firm’s products in an “overly-sexualised way” and depicted women as sex objects, the Advertising Standards Authority said.

The retailer is one of several online fast fashion companies to have been rapped for their racy marketing.

Pretty Little Thing said it “in no way meant to cause any offence”.

The advert began with a woman looking over her shoulder in a seductive manner wearing black vinyl, high-waisted chaps-style knickers.

It then showed other scantily clad women in seductive or “highly sexualised” poses, including one wearing a transparent mesh bodysuit.

A viewer complained and the regulator agreed, saying the ad was “irresponsible” and likely to cause offence. [J4MB emphasis]

Pretty Little Thing said it “celebrates all women” and promotes body diversity. But the ad, which aired in October last year, must not be shown again.

We predicted it would come to this. All it takes is for one feminist – as here – to claim to be “offended”, then the feminists at the Advertising Standards Authority will ban adverts. Kate writes:

This is absurd. How can adverts for lingerie NOT be highly sexualised? Of course women with faces like a bulldog stung by wasps, and bodies like a sack of coal – feminists, in the main – will be offended by sexy women. And these are the women who decide what is “overly sexualised”, and what  depicts women as sex objects? The whole point of lingerie is to turn women into sex objects and give them power over men.

Feminist judges and academics celebrate their corruption of the justice system. “Feminist justice” – The UK Association of Women Judges’ last event marking 100 years of women in law

Our thanks to Julian for this announcement on the website of the Courts and Tribunals Judiciary. The feminist corruption of the “justice” system runs very deep. The full announcement:

The UK Association of Women Judges is inviting everyone to the final event in its open lecture series marking the centenary of women entering the legal profession.

The discussion – entitled Feminist Justice – will be held at Gresham College at Barnard’s Inn Hall, Holborn, London on Monday 24 February from 6-8/9pm, followed by a drinks reception.

Guests of honour include Lady Justice Ingrid Simler; Judge Siobhan McGrath, President of the FTT (Property Chamber); and Mrs Justice Justine Thornton, together with academics Professors Rosemary Hunter, Professor Grace James and Professor Helen Carr who have all participated in feminist judgments projects. [J4MB emphasis] The event will be chaired by Professor Erika Rackley.

The cost is £22.15. Book through Eventbrite.

When you click on the Eventbrite link, you’ll see a sentence in addition to the above announcement:

Enjoy hearing brilliant legal minds discuss the impact of this work [J4MB: Feminist judgments projects] on judging today.

The only one of the six “brilliant legal minds” who have come on our radar is “professor” Rosemary Hunter, an Australian radical feminist. Last June we posted a lengthy piece about the newly-formed and utterly corrupt Family Justice Panel, 10 of the 11 members being women, mainly known feminists (including Hunter), the one man being a male feminist, Mr Justice Stephen Cobb. Our piece was titled Family Justice Panel – the latest feminist corruption of the Ministry of Justice.

Women have a licence to kill men, and suffer no consequences (case #571). Jessica Breeze, 20, stabs father in the back, killing him. Claims self-defence. Not guilty of murder or manslaughter.

Our thanks to Alan for this. He writes:

The guy seemed a thoroughly unpleasant piece of work but it seems incredible to find that stabbing someone in the back while they are walking away is self defence.

As we know very well any woman claiming to be suffering from domestic violence will be very well supported so why does the daughter need to kill him?

Bearing in mind what we know about such households is it possible that there was mutual violence between all three?

There seems to be a de facto right for women to kill any man if he is judged or can be portrayed as ‘controlling’ and violent.

Steve Moxon – “The Falsity of Identity Politics: Negative Attitude is Towards Males who are Different, in Policing Sexual Access by Gate-Keeping Group Membership”

I started becoming very interested in gender issues and feminism in 2009. Two books I read that year particularly raised my consciousness about gender issues – Steve Moxon’s The Woman Racket: The new science explaining how the sexes relate at work, at play and in society (2008) and Professor Simon Baron-Cohen’s The Essential Difference: Men, Women and the Extreme Male Brain (2012).

My thanks to Steve Moxon for alerting me to his new paper, which will be published in New Male Studies later this month – The Falsity of Identity Politics: Negative Attitude is Towards Males who are Different, in Policing Sexual Access by Gate-Keeping Group Membership.

National Conference on Men’s Issues, Manchester, 17 May, 2020: Domestic abuse is a men’s issue, too.

It’s our intention to post periodic reminders of this important conference. While we need to sell a minimum number of tickets by 7 March, we would welcome more ticket sales at this stage.

My original announcement:

I’m pleased to announce J4MB will be hosting the first National Conference on Men’s Issues – as opposed to an international conference – to be held in the UK. It will be held at a premier venue in Manchester on Sunday, 17 May, 2020. Details here. The event title is Domestic abuse is a men’s issue, too. We’re delighted at the range of speakers. The keynote speaker will be Professor Nicola Graham-Kevan, whose work is well known to many J4MB supporters. William Collins will also be speaking, along with other speakers who are well-known or not so well-known to J4MB supporters.

Tickets are strictly limited, so I recommend you don’t wait long before ordering yours. In any case, I’d strongly urge you to order your ticket(s) before 7 March, for reasons explained in the document.

I hope to see many of our supporters at the event. On the preceding evening, Saturday, 16 May, I’ll be in the venue’s bar along with William Collins, Elizabeth Hobson and Natty Raymond. We look forward to meeting as many supporters as possible. Apart from William, we’ll also be in the bar on the evening of the event.
