Labour’s Feminist Love Island superfans mourn their favourite abuser Caroline Flack yet ignore the suicide of male colleague

A tip of the hat to HEqual for this. We were sorry to hear of the suicide of Caroline Flack. Listening to BBC Radio 4 yesterday, I noted two recurring narratives regarding Caroline Flack, namely that (a) prosecuting her wasn’t in the public interest, and (b) her partner hadn’t wanted the prosecution to proceed, so it shouldn’t have. Needless to say, had the sexes been reversed, neither narrative would have been heard on the BBC (or indeed elsewhere in the mainstream media).

On 17 May we’ll be hosting the first National Conference on Men’s Issues, in Manchester, Domestic abuse is a men’s issue, too. Details here, list of speakers etc. here. I strongly urge you to order your ticket(s) (£95.00 including lunch and unlimited tea and coffee) by 7 March at the latest. Thank you.
