Our thanks to Douglas for this. He writes:
A few years ago, 300 girls were abducted by Boko Haram, following years of killing thousands of boys and men in horrific acts. The world rose in a storm over the girls with campaigns like “bring back our girls” (many of whom have, fortunately, been released).
A few days ago, 500 young men and boys were released from captivity. Now, another 300 have been released. The news of the tortures they received, indeed the news of their capture in the first place, has barely registered on the world news. In the UK, the Daily Mail is to be congratulated on reporting on the releases and treatment they received.
