Yesterday evening I was in a televised discussion broadcast live on RT (formerly “Russia Today”) about gender stereotyping in ads, with Linda Bellos, a 68-year-old lesbian radical feminist and gay rights campaigner, with two 40-something children by the man she married in 1970.
RT have posted the piece (video, 10:08), along with some commentary. Readers may be surprised to learn that (as is common in such situations) I had no sight of the preceding video, the person I was debating with, the (British) interviewer, or anything you can see in the RT studio (in Moscow). Very frustrating, to put it mildly. My contribution was made in a dark room, looking into a TV camera.
