Last night Elizabeth Hobson and I has the pleasure of attending a sold-out Spectator event, with Sir Roger Scruton and Douglas Murray in conversation. The advertised subject of the talk was “The future of conservatism”, and while little was said on that subject, it was nevertheless an interesting discussion (following a standing ovation, when they entered the room). The audio file (1:25:15) is here, the Q&A starts at 47:00. If you’re very pushed for time, try to catch at least 44:24 – 46:10, in which Scruton and Murray consider the question of Gender Studies in relation to their thought experiment, the Scruton-Murray College.
