Liberal Democrat support of Layla Moran MP – politicians seven times more likely to support female perpetrators of domestic violence than to criticise them

A tip of the hat to hequal for this.

Suella Braverman is right: cultural Marxism is a real and present danger

Interesting defence, from David Kurten at The Bruges Group, of Suella (formerly Fernandes, author of The Family Justice Bill) Braverman’s use of the term cultural Marxism, which has been seized on by main stream media as proof of malevolence.

J4MB social media offensive commences

We are pleased to announce that J4MB has made an agreement with a Facebook page originally called Oxford Men’s Rights Action to colloborate on an undertaking to make the page the official J4MB supporters page, with a change of name to UK Men’s Rights Action. UK MRA now acts as source of information, debate and humour for a wide range of people, both UK based and abroad.

The page initially evolved from a group of male friends who became increasingly unhappy with the negative way that men and boys were portrayed in the mainstream media, back in 2015. This discontent grew into a street activism movement, with several awareness raising events and stunts carried out in Oxford UK, to highlight the unique problems men and boys face. This street activism was no easy task, as men and boys’ issues were rarely, if ever, covered by the mainstream media back then. The page has become the official supporters page for J4MB, as our aims are broadly similar, we have a mutual appreciation of each other’s work and are keen to work together.

As part of the merger we also now have a Gab.ai account.

I look forward to working alongside Nicholas Brown and the moderators on this venture. If you are interested in helping to moderate this rapidly growing page, please contact me at elizabeth@j4mb.org.uk

Ewan Jones: Political Tribalism

For some years Ewan Jones has been among the hardest-working MRAs in the UK, and he was a huge help in our 2015 general election campaigning. His latest video is here (39:38), we’ve added it to our YouTube Miscellaneous playlist, which now has 99 video and audio files.

Man Must Let Ex Use His Sperm to Get Pregnant — And Pay Child Support, Court Rules

My thanks to Martin for this link to a story about a bizarre ruling in Arizona. Despite a contract existing that stipulated that eggs frozen by a former couple could only be used with the consent of both parties, the Arizona Court of Appeals has ruled that the woman’s desire to become a parent outweighs the man’s desire not to – and that if she does, he may indeed be liable to pay child support.

In response to this case, Arizona legislators have passed a law that allows embryos from a divorced couple to be given to the party who wants to procreate – but also extinguishes the rights and obligations of the other parent.

Rape cycling

Yesterday we published a short blog piece concerning a male cyclist and a female cyclist taking very different approaches to a barrier in their way. Our blog piece on the matter, with a link to the 30-second video, is here. Our thanks to Mike P, a valued regular commenter, for his thoughts on the matter:

Well, this says it all. See how even male cyclists oppress women?

It’s pouring with rain, wet and cold, she’s made to cycle through mud, forced to lift her bike over an obstruction, while he’s allowed to just duck under it leaving her to struggle, abandoned and on her own.

How’s that fair?

Not content with this grotesque display of Patriarchal Privilege, he returns to gloat and mock by pretending she can’t lift the bike on her own, and mansplains – by example – how it’s done. Departing once more, he leaves her behind and alone.

And clock this bit.

I notice she has no map – he must have taken it for himself, there’s no other answer.

Even if she DID have one, it will have been designed and laid out in a simple two-dimensional picto-interface form showing merely actual geographical features that only the emotionally crippled males can understand, and without any regard whatsoever for how that might make her FEEL, or even if textural colour layers match.

It’s time for Sistas to stand together and call out misogynistic, white male heteronormative patriarchal and systematic Rape Cycling.

Most Women In Prison Are ‘There Because Of A Man’, Says David Lammy

During an evidence giving session with the House of Commons Justice Select Committee, that was not without a good point here and there, David Lammy made the claim that “the vast majority of women that I met in the criminal justice system are there because of a man and are there because of exploitation – and the system is not responding sufficiently to the role of that man in bringing them to court.” (video at Huffington Post).

This bigotry of low expectations, this idea of women as mere feathers in the wind to be blown hither and thither (rather than moral agents) is a classic feminist position on women in the criminal justice system. It is, of course, a position entirely inconsistent with other feminist positions that present women as morally capable or even superior to men – whatever argument is most expedient for the expansion of privileges for women is the argument they will push at any given time.

Bike barrier problem. Different solutions from a man and a woman.

Our thanks to Ray for this (video, 0:30). This explains, in a readily understood manner, why:

Men always beat women at the highest levels in competitive events, whether physical strength is required (e.g. cycling) or not (e.g. chess); and

Mansplaining evolved – to help women learn from men’s superior knowledge.
