Bedford School for Boys is a highly-regarded independent school for boys, in my adopted home town for the past 20+ years. Many of its pupils travel from and to London, London St Pancras station being just a 45-minute train ride away from the throbbing metropolis. A little over two weeks ago, I hand-delivered a letter addressed to James Hodgson, Head Master.
Yesterday, not having received a response to my letter, I left a message on Mr Hodgson’s PA’s answerphone. Her response, this morning:
Dear Mr Buchanan,
The Head Master apologises for his lack of response. He thanks you for your letter of 25th November and says that the school will get in touch should they require such a talk in the future. [J4MB: I think we can all agree that hell will freeze over, before that day arrives.]

The bottom line? This highly-regarded independent school for boys is happy to launch its pupils into the world, utterly clueless about the increasingly anti-male environment in which they will live their lives. This is NOT “preparation for life”.
