Given what has happened since I can’t help but wondering if women ought not to have been given a few white feathers instead, just through a couple more wars, until they learned the real value and the real cost of their vote. More of them might thus hold it in higher regard and wield it and the power that came after it with a little more care. Excellent article, by the way.

  2. Once again,men made a decision on the basis of the gentleman doctrine rather than merit. The result is ridiculous, undemocratic and anti-men laws.

  3. Women often give their reason for voting for a particular male candidate as “He’s the best-looking/got bedroom eyes/a nice bum, etc.” See? Women don’t objectify men at all – cough, cough.
