Theresa May reshuffle brings in ‘fresh talent’ to replace older white men

An ageist (“older”), racist (“white”), sexist (“men”) piece in The Guardian. It includes a tweet from Michael Fabricant, a Tory MP:

So, it seems ok to talk about government ministers who are “male, pale, and stale”. What would be the outcry if we talked about “female, pale, and stale”????

He should, of course, have ended his tweet with “female, black, and young”.

  1. Sadly, allowing women into leadership roles and decision making has resulted in complete farce of a democracy. Now it is time to openly admit it and end the pretense that all is well.

    • As I recall neither Mrs Thatcher nor the likes of Barbara Castle were “allowed in” they pushed in. However the crop of “all women selection list for a safe seat” women in Parliament appear to be doing reasonably well at looking pretty useless from “flounce off in a huff” Greening, to our favourite “rent a Gob” and “can’t add up” former Corbyn mistress generally doing a good job of demolishing the myth that “women bring something better” to politics.
Hopefully “pestminister” has persuaded at least some of the white knights that non of them are safe or can trust their female colleagues.

  2. Theresa May has insisted that her government looks “more like the country it serves”

That didn’t work for Detroit, and it won’t work here.
