This really is starting to look like some chickens coming home to roost as each case adds to the sense of a “systematic” failure. Thus far the “cover” has been “lack of resources” but there is the prospect , if cases still attract publicity, that the truth of a systematic process of “fitting up” men to achieve higher conviction “rates” will become difficult to smoke screen.
*Lack of resources..” That’s always the excuse. Or, to translate: “Send more taxpayer’s money.” I think they’ll be more careful n future; another set of scandals like this and even a female DPP’s job may be on the line, although I have no doubt she will continue to try to cling on by her fingernails.

Do not underestimate how much mileage the ‘lack of resources’ smoke screen has left in its legs.
