Venice Allan, 42, kicked out of Labour Christmas party because her views on transgender rights ‘made guests feel unsafe’

Venice Allan, 42, accused the Labour Party of 'an appalling, Orwellian betrayal of women' after she was made to leave a Women's Network Event (pictured: Lily Madigan in the background of the photo)

Our thanks to Mike P for this. The start of the piece:

A feminist campaigner was thrown out of a Labour Christmas party because her ‘anti-transgender’ views made a trans teen party member ‘feel unsafe’.

Venice Allan, 42, a single mother from Lewisham, known for her controversial views, accused the Labour Party of ‘an appalling, Orwellian betrayal of women’ when she was made to leave a Labour Women’s Network Event.

She claimed she was removed from the event by chair Olivia Bailey because her presence was making Lily Madigan – the first transgender person to be elected as a women’s officer – feel uncomfortable.

  1. Veteran feminists like Germaine Greer and Jenni Murray have fallen foul of the trans lobby for saying, correctly, they cannot be women.
    Or men, depending .

    • And Julie Bindel, of course. They’re collectively known as TERFs – Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminists.

A very small number of people are trans-gendered, a condition that is ‘hard wired’ in the womb, along with much else. The book ‘We Are Our Brains’ by Dick Swaab is very good on such matters. Of course such people deserve our sympathy, and should be given appropriate support. What they should NOT do is (through politicians such as the ridiculous Maria Miller MP) bully the 99%+ of the population which is not transgendered, into turning their lives, language etc. upside down to accommodate the ever-increasing demands of the very small number of transgendered people to be ‘comfortable’. None of us should be able to demand ‘comfort’.

      • Yes, quite right Mike.

Turning things upside down and back to front has long been the guiding principle that is so simple yet so effective that any fool can get the hang of it.

Thus it is at the heart of of any leftist attempt that the late great ‘Angry Harry’ characterised as the ‘Ubiquitous Quest For Power’.

      • Now now, we could be onto something here; after all, the TRAs copied the feminist grievance model when it came to elbowing their way in. Now we can copy them by forcing feminists out of the public square by insisting they make us feel “unsafe”. We just have to say it faster than they can.

  2. The more I see of feminism the more I wonder why government kow-tow to it. It really has taken over from the mad cow disease hysteria of yesteryear.

    • The Government kow-tows to feminism because feminists are at the heart of government, and control the feminist agenda. Feminism has been a cornerstone of the Establishment for 30-40 years.

  3. Venice Allan has made a serious error of political judgement in making a sane and rational statment of the bleedin’ obvious.

We don’t want that sort of common sense in the modern Labour Party – where would we be if that passing fad caught on?

Why, we’d be in a situation where Feminism was seen to be NOT eating itself.
There’s no future for the barking mad left if we take that route now is there?

  4. Quite apart from the consideration that no one can make anyone do, think, feel or say anything, except under duress, this attention seeking millennial snowflake is simply using the same tactics for controlling public space and discourse as feminists have used for decades. How pleasing to see the revolution, like every other gangster racket, ultimately eating its own.
