It never ceases to amaze me how thoroughly ingrained the idea of a “fragile male ego” is in our culture. And yet the list of female insecurities about appearance, weight, clothes, confidence, height, hair, skin well just about anything at all says quite the reverse. It really is as though to point out the extreme fragility of ego would be completely ungentlemanly because to do so would mean women might literally die of embarrassment. Certainly what does appear true is that as women get “stronger” and “roar” there is simultaneously apparently an epidemic of anxiety, depression and mental illnesses?
Thanks for my chortle of the day, even at this late hour.
