Exactly Max Hastings exemplifies “the problem” that many powerful men act on their gynocentric indeed “sexist” traditional view that females need protecting, its just sometimes this “gets out of hand”.
So we do indeed have a parade of sexless “sex” scandals often sounding more Downton Abbey than 21st Century. With draconian methods and punishments meted out. This is a complete success for the feminist mantra of linking “manspreading” with “rape culture”. I notice that on hearing of the death of Mr Sargeant the Labour Shadow Minister for Equality and Women said that his treatment looked bad, one presumes using some common sense and humanity, a day later she’d been put back “on message” and backtracked. Feminists rightly observe that even now its mainly men in political power (at least in Westminster) so the actual implementation of laws, guidance, “codes” and now the elevation of lapses of good manners to sex crime is actually men’s doing.

Very interesting. I agree with most of the piece, but I have a few issues, Max continues to push anti-Russia war propaganda, he seems to imply that social media needs to be censored and he’s also ‘conflating’ worldwide feminism with ‘us and them’ war propaganda.
