We very seldom link to pieces on the Return of Kings website – it must be years since we last did – but this is a ‘must read’. It was prompted by Ms Silverberg’s woeful article in The Guardian last Monday.

It is fascinating isn’t it. For essentially the theme is “ladies first” expressed in a petulant adolescent way. For as she herself says “Be aware of your inherent power in situations and use it to protect women” . So it seems the truth is women aren’t strong “hear me roar” but in need of men’s power after all.

Seldom, I think, have I ever read anything that is so wide of the mark, so off target, so inaccurately aimed, so squarely has the nail been hit on the thumb, it makes one actually feel sorry for the author.
If she really belives what she writes, and I am prepared to believe she Might, then what a painful bed of nails the poor girl’s made for herself.
And her resentment and suffering have been inflicted on her by other women, who care not for her indignant distress, not by men.
They have abused their knowledge that other women tend to suffer from the three i’s, – Inferiority, Inadequacy and Insecurity, and exploit those three horsemen to make them dance like unhappy puppets.
There is truely no propagandist so convincing as one who believes their own rhetoric, and no liar so loathsome as the pernicious manipulator.
