New Zealand: Man in child custody battle sets himself alight, dies.

Tragic. But just one of huge numbers of men globally committing suicide after being denied access to their child(ren) after family breakdowns. What could be more cruel, than denying a parent access to his/her beloved child(ren), at the behest usually of malicious ex-partners? The overwhelming majority of the parents being denied access being men, the overwhelming majority of the malicious ex-partners women.

  1. And as has often been noted here in England and Wales the Family Court system connives to facilitate this appalling abuse. Most unlawfully in Courts not enforcing their own orders, in fact simply ignoring contempt of court. Without addressing the ideological bias of CAFCASS or the perverse incentives to make accusations of Abuse or introducing a presumption of shared parenting;
    a start would be that the Courts actually took this contempt seriously and use the sanctions they have already.
    In doing so they would signal that they take the welfare of children seriously and value fathers.
    As Parliament gave the courts the responsibilities and sanctions the remedy is “political” if the Courts defy the law in this way.

  2. I hope that each and every one of these dreadful cases of abuse of men by women using the legal system brings more and more men to understand why it was our forefathers kept our foremothers’ hands well away from the levers of power.
