Our thanks to Steve for this. Near the end of the piece:
Pointon broke down in tears and asked if she could drop the charges when her account was challenged by police…
Judge Christopher Batty told her: “Your malicious complaint has done a huge disservice to those seeking justice through the police and courts.”
Why do judges never make the point that false rape allegations are very damaging to men, in part due to their lack of anonymity, and offer them some sympathy?
I refer again to Janet Bloomfield’s piece, 13 reasons women lie about being raped, Hannah Wallen’s 6 dangerous rape myths, and Jonathan Taylor’s 10 reasons false rape accusations are common.
I was unable to find this news in the Guardian or the BBC. Was I not looking hard enough? Oh, wait..
I agree but its something a lot of men don’t want to believe
wasn’t there another criminology student ( who was also a prison officer) who was gaming the system ?
I got to ask the question.
does nowhere in the syllabus on criminology does it explain the consequences of false allegations and how they are used by “criminals ” to abuse the legal system ?
what mickey mouse university taught her ?
“If men lost their stoicism” the whole of society would crumble which is why we are not allowed to. Without male stoicism we would not have the infrastructure that makes civilisation possible.
‘We should start assuming women are as prone to evil as men. if not more.‘
After twenty years of red pilled internet browsing I am firmly of the opinion that women are far more prone to evil than men, which is why men have been fed so many egregious lies about them.
This happens because men were made to believe that women are above crime, above lies, above all evil. Well, those who were teaching us this were not telling us the truth. We should start assuming women are as prone to evil as men. if not more. No more gentleman justice !
Completely agree. A man is falsely accused of a serious crime and faces years in prison but it’s all about the poor female victims who might not be believed. My view is that if society doesn’t give a damn about male victims, don’t expect me to give a damn about female victims.
Ha ha! ‘Criminology student’ you couldn’t make it up could you? I think that this gives you a failing grade sweety!
‘Judge Christopher Batty told her: “Your malicious complaint has done a huge disservice to those seeking justice through the police and courts.”‘
And that’s all that counts because, as Matthew Baron observed, any injustice is sufferable by men as long as ‘victims’ are protected.
The judges comment about doing a disservice to other women reminds me of the number of times I have heard opponents of woman only shortlists say they are patronising to women. As if being unfair to men were not reason enough to oppose them.
As you say there is no sympathy for the victims of false accusations. Somewhere deep down in our gut I suspect we all fear what would happen if men lost their stoicism and resilience and crumbled into victims. In some ways this means that men are effectively resilient because there is literally no alternative. Men don’t attempt suicide like women as a “cry for help” but succeed because their experience is that there is no help. This will be “taught” in small ways from babyhood and so its no surprise that some men eventually in extremis make an end. Feminism simply adds to this.
