Realistic sex robots are in my opinion a very long way away if you mean anything that is not instantly recognisable as non-human as soon as any interaction of any sort occurs.
There has been a number of concerns expressed about the impact of such devices on women without any commentary at all on the fact that by far the commonest sex robot device is the vibrator and that this is used much more often by women than the equivalent device for men. There (naturally) has been no concern about the impact of this on men or any discussion or analysis of why women find this sort of device,which makes no pretence of simulating a complete human, satisfying or desireable but in general men look for a more complete ‘human like’ experience. Perhaps it is because it is evidence that the stereotype of shallow men only interested in sex and deep women interested in a relationship is false.
