There are a few thought that occur. Clearly the Police did not do their job of investigation, one can see this reflects the political push to believe “victims” . the second is the clear motivation of money. A real coincidence of political push to get more convictions and financial incentives to make accusations.
Because of the nature of the trauma of being accused, let alone convicted, I can see that the men would want to quickly move on simply because to seek redress will prolong public association of their name with a crime that (contrary to what feminists claim) carries deep shame.
Yet until the Police face consequences of such poor work they won’t take notice. Somehow innocent men need to be assisted to get complaints to the IPCC and to be supported to make these properly investigated. Particularly in the case of these serial liars. Because although there are limitations to the evidence that can presented to a court , previous behaviour can and should be part of the investigation of the alleged crime. I have some sympathy with the Police as they increasingly have to do social engineering, but it is their responsibility to investigate properly and this is something only they are mandated to do. In an ideal world someone will sue but in reality the vast majority of accused are far too poor to be able afford the immense costs.

‘The Police’ can reasonably be blamed and should be made personally accountable and liable for their individual failures since it is individuals who work within systems. However, there are currently a number of significant mitigating factors which, while not absolving officers of culpability, do in part explain their inadequacy, one of which is the appallingly low calibre of those currently serving in the various police forces.
A few years ago, perhaps three or four, HMIC published a report in which attention was drawn to the low educational standards of police officers, reportedly lower than at any time since the end of the Second World war, describing some as barely able to read or write (I think those were the actual words used). That assessment could mean functionally illiterate, which should be cause for alarm but doesn’t seem to worry anyone with the authority to make changes. I’ve tried to find a link to the report but have been unable to do so.
Another factor, as you’ve observed, is the ideological corruption of senior ranks and the politicisation of policing and justice (the effective criminalisation of politically incorrect dissent and the persecution of emerging working class leaders are an example).
Yet another is the apparent total lack of any real control over the police forces; we get lousy policing because we elect weak, amoral and self-serving politicians who know nothing, have no interest other than self-advancement, are often criminally dishonest, have no backbone and are easily bullied by over-mighty public servants on the make. There are of course exceptions.
The IPCC is absolutely useless and seems to have no function other than to excuse the crimes of police officers. Total reform at all levels is the only way things can be improved and we won’t see that until we force it.

And when Beale was ‘bragging on facebook’, nobody reported that to the police? Not even the girlfirend who knew Beale had made up the whole thing and knew that her victim was in gaol? Or did I miss something?
And when Beale complained to the police about harassment by her ex-girlfriends parents, nobody in the police bothered to check Beale’s facebook page?

Ah the bitter harvest of ‘belive the victim’, and then PAYING them to make any old story up.
I remain astonished at such culpable stupidity.
Or do I mean culpable malice?
Alas, I think I do.
