Our proposals on divorce and divorce settlements are on pp.57-60 of our 2015 general election manifesto.
Three months ago we posted a piece, Maria Mills, 51, is a parasite. An extract:
Senior judges at the Court of Appeal in London have now ordered that Mrs Mills’s monthly payouts be increased to £1,441 and told her ex-husband that he must support her for life as she is unable to meet her basic needs.
Their ruling came despite pleas by Mr Mills that he should not be the insurer against the wife’s poor financial decisions and forced to “pick up the tab” 15 years after they separated. It will fuel pressure for reform to end the so-called meal-ticket for life.
My thanks to Paul for pointing me to to an appeal by the husband in this case, Graham Mills, who wants to take the matter to the Supreme Court. He’s seeking £50,000, and we wish him every success in raising the money, and dealing a blow to parasitical ex-wives. Paul tells me he learned of the appeal after Baroness Deech re-tweeted it.
If everyone who read this gave us just £1 – or even better, £1 monthly – we could change the world. Click here to make a difference. Thanks.
