I think Davies will get 55 to 60% of the vote. UKIP have stepped aside. UKIP got 9% of the vote in 2015. Most of those will vote Tory, especially when the Tory candidate has always been for Brexit and winds up lefties.

Hmmmm, not sure most of the comments are going the way the Guardian would want!
Actually it’s quite heartening to see so many people questioning what was wrong with Davies asking for gender neutral legislation.
If on,y the media had asked that question……..

Those of us who are local or able should offer Phil a hand canvasing if some of his other views don’t clash with your sensibilities. I think it would be a tragedy for the movement if the first serious MP to speak up for the equal treatment of men and boys was then immediately jacked at the next available election. That would be a big dent for the movement IMO.
On the other hand as bad as a negative outcome might be, a positive one would be very good for us. If we win other MP’s who may have been afraid that speaking up was committing political suicide will be more likely to speak up and then we can get a real snowball effect going.
I’m no fan of any lame-stream political parties and would only ever vote pirate party or something along those lines, because I’m for open direct government by the people without middlepersons, but this is different, this is our one full on MHRM MP. IMO we must help PD to keep his seat in any way we can, …if he’ll let us.

This really is a good example of the myopia of WEP. Here the nation is facing some major changes that are bound to bring some big challenges, opportunities and losses. A time to get serious. Yet the WEP targets an MP for doing his job, reading stuff and asking questions. I don’t agree with Mr Davies on everything but he certainly isn’t as represented in this Article and WEP propaganda. Indeed despite the publicity on Men’s issues he’s been far busier on other things for his constituents. And even on men’s issues his stance has been a simple one of equity, the fact that its generated so much fuss shows how far things have gone from equality.

I was ranting like anything the past week about how there isn’t one MP in the HOC who isn’t a traitor and man-hater. I forgot about P Davies. The only elected British politician that I’ve heard oppose routine infant male genital mutilation, and the only one prepared to hold the establishment to account by exposing their inability to practice their own equality ideology.I wish he’d stand up in PM’s questions and ask when the CJS will start prosecuting forced foreskin amputation of male infants, though.
No response from Paul Nuttall or anyone else at UKIP HQ to my email asking why they only oppose female genital mutilation. I’ll be saving on petrol on polling day by abstaining and donating another fiver to J4MB. I know it’s peanuts, but I’m a pauper.

Thanks Lawrence. Philip is aware MGM is illegal and he’s on the Justice Select Committee but to the best of my knowledge he’s never raised MGM in the HoC or in interviews.

I thought he mentioned it once in the select committee. I’m sure I heard him call it mutilation too.

Thanks, I missed that. He referred to it briefly as ‘circumcision’ at the end of his speech on IMD 2015.

I’ve just realised that I can spoil my ballot paper by writing J4M&B on it. Even though I am an ardent advocate of ‘Brexit’, I cannot bring myself to vote Conservative. Now I have a reason to go and vote

I am interested that Paul Nuttall Has not responded to you . I wrote to UKIPs representative on the” Womens and Equalities Committee” Margot Parker asking why she has publicly criticised FGM but not MGM. The response completely failed to engage with my question. I am now considering not renewing my membership and writing to tell Paul Nuttall that if he allows her to get away with that sort of thing I shall not be rejoining.
