White men ‘endangered species’ in top business roles as women promoted to senior positions – Tesco chairman

Our thanks to Sean for this. Extracts:

Speaking at the Retail Week Live conference on Thursday, he (John Allan, Tesco chairman) said: “If you are female and from an ethnic background and preferably both then you are in an extremely propitious period.

“For a thousand years men have got most of these jobs, the pendulum has swung very significantly the other way now and will do for the foreseeable future I think.

“If you are a white male – tough – you are an endangered species and you are going to have to work twice as hard.”

These days I’m embarrassed to admit I spent my 30-year career as a business executive, such is the idiocy and complicity of the senior executives in FTSE350 companies and elsewhere who’ve enthusiastically embraced feminist demands for more women on boards.

Regular followers of this blog will surely need no reminding of the evidence (five longitudinal studies) compiled in 2012 by Campaign for Merit in Business demonstrating a clear causal link between increasing female representation on boards, and corporate financial decline. That evidence has never been challenged by proponents of ‘more women on boards’.

If everyone who read this gave us just £1 – or even better, £1 monthly – we could change the world. Click here to make a difference. Thanks.

About Mike Buchanan

I'm a men's human rights advocate, writer, and publisher. My primary focus is leading the political party I launched in 2013, Justice for Men & Boys (and the women who love them). I still work actively on two campaigns I launched in early 2012, Campaign for Merit in Business and the Anti-Feminism League. In 2014 I launched The Alternative Sexism Project, aiming to raise public understanding that the sexism faced by men and boys has far more grievous consequences than the sexism faced by women and girls.

Well its quite refreshing really to see such clear statements of direct sex and race discrimination. Both “positive” and clearly saying white men will be discriminated against. All illegal in the UK (not sure about Eire).
Of course there is a barb in the tail for equality warriors. The white men who make it in Tesco must be twice as good as the “quota” people.
One hopes that one or two of the passed over due to discrimination will have the money to take Tesco on.

Will he now ‘have’ to resign?

      Haha very good!

Well, way to go to motivate half your work force Mr Allan. I wonder what the shareholders think. Could this be a Gerald Ratner moment?
This whole idea that men should be discriminated against in favour of women as some sort of retributive justice for supposed past inequalities (for the past 1,000 years apparently) is so simple-minded, I would be embarrassed for a twelve-year-old who came out with it.
How about we give every black person in the country a white slave, to make up for the slave trade, or ban anyone with a middle or upper class background from any but the most menial jobs. You could make a better case for these ideas than what Allan is suggesting.
I guess he thinks that a woman who comes from an upper middle class background and went to St Paul’s or Roedean, is disadvantaged compared to a man brought up on a council estate and who went to a state school.
I hope that male senior managers resign en masse and the shareholders boot the fool out.

And now he’s in trouble with the equality and gender warriors! Will he learn his lesson, that there’s no appeasing them? Probably not.

I have zero sympathy for the clown. It’s hilarious how the femtards have twisted his virulently anti-male comments into an attack on women, going so far as to call for a boycott. It’s hard to figure who is the more ridiculous.

      • Groan

And of course they haven’t noticed that the implication of what he said is that women and ethic candidates will be chosen over white men who work twice as hard. You’d think the protests would be about either the blatant discrimination or the implication that women and ethnic candidates are half as productive.
In the interests of fairness I have to also point out that as usual the ethnic element is actually ignored. Its all about the “wimmin”.
Which in this case will be white middle class women from Quango land looking for a nice NED post or two as a supplement to their income and Ego.

All this gentlemen’s silence and thus tacit approval when women are being promoted solely on the basis of gender has resulted in this situation. The gentleman culture does not belong to the post emancipation era. Plain and simple. Stop acting like one. Times have changed and men need to change along with it. Men Insisting on manners from a bygone era when women abandoned their part of the deal is not going to solve anything, Instead it is going to make everything worse for men.

My cup runneth over as now the feminists are after him for ……….well I’m not sure they know really, as he’s on their side!

Love it love it. especially the constant repetition of men needing to be twice as good. Hammers home that the quotas and “positive discrimination” means somebody (and Mr Allan helpfully makes clear it’s white men) gets discriminated against.
One hopes that he and other smug Chairs of Boards might learn the lesson that even if you do what the feminist lobbies want you to do, and make it crystal clear you are favouring women, even then the buggers want to boycott your business!!! LoL
