58 of New York’s 10,000+ firefighters and officers are women. $77 MILLION has been spent installing women’s bathrooms and locker rooms since 2002.

Our thanks to Martin for this. The start of the article in the New York Post:

The FDNY is taking one more step toward diversifying its ranks: the completion of women’s bathrooms and locker rooms in all city firehouses, at a cost of about $77 million over 14 years.

FDNY Commissioner Daniel Nigro plans to announce the last leg of the effort — a three-year, $47 million construction program in 47 firehouses — when he swears in a 317 new probationary firefighters, including nine women, on Monday.

“Our current women firefighters, and the many more we are actively recruiting to join the department, deserve this,” Nigro said. “It could not have been possible without the city’s commitment of capital funds three years ago to complete the most difficult construction projects.”

Of more than 10,000 uniformed firefighters, the FDNY now employs 58 female firefighters and officers.

I cannot believe that the good citizens of New York ever voted in any election to fund this insane feminist-inspired expenditure. Similarly, I can’t recall ever voting for modifications to be made to Britain’s nuclear submarines, to accommodate women – at £5+ million apiece, possibly the most expensive publicly-funded pregnancy programme in the world.

If everyone who read this gave us just £1 – or even better, £1 monthly – we could change the world. Click here to make a difference. Thanks.

  1. Consider that the number has been artificially inflated by the relaxation of entry requirements and tests for women so should actually be fewer than 58. Remember that tub of lard who was in the news not too long ago because she’d managed to get into the NYFD after several attempts including legal action, and considerably reduced physical tests.

What might the real number be if women were subject to the same standards as men?

  2. So it costs over 1 million dollars per woman to make the job ‘possible’ for ‘female firefighters’… An insane exercise in futility. If I’m trapped in a burning building, overcome by smoke, would I prefer to be carried off by a female firefighter? Don’t even think that is possible. I am surprised that women, especially the feminist type, have no self criticism left in them and are willing to support this insanity and put many lives in danger in the process. Both the victims’ as well as the female firefighters’… And the gentlemen’s tolerance of this women’s nonsense is equally to blame.

  3. Its fascinating isn’t it. It seems not to matter where one is, “public money” is squandered in huge amounts for appearances sake. Quite apart from anything else with .05% of the workforce female surely they could “muck in” in the few places this will be relevant?

  4. This is just another part of a multi pronged undermining of our economic, social and legal and resources.
As, for example, are the faux corrupted ‘Green’ attempts to prompt ‘de-industrialisation’ and grossly inadequate ‘renewable’ energy supplies.

Ally this with the large amounts of money to be made in a nascent industry and you have an un-holy alliance between the Frankfurt School on the one hand, and opportunistic capitalst greed on the other.

    Oh joy.
