Harassment: Girls ‘wear shorts under school skirts’

Give me strength. An extract from the BBC piece:

The Women and Equalities Committee is conducting an investigation into the extent of sexual harassment and violence in England’s schools.

Sophie Bennett, co-director of UK Feminista, told the committee: “We’ve heard from girls who tell us you don’t leave school as a girl without being called a slut, that to wear shorts under your skirt to prevent boys revealing your underwear in the playground is just normal behaviour.

“So there is that sense of a normalised culture of sexual harassment in schools where girls don’t feel able to report it and instead change their own behaviour such as wearing shorts under their skirts.”

UK Feminista is an odious organization led by Kat Banyard, a hatchet-faced young radical feminist. She won the inaugural Lying Feminist of the Month award for wildly exaggerating the prevalence of sexual harassment of schoolgirls in an interview with Jon Snow for Channel 4 News in March 2013. Her award certificate is here, the video of that interview here.

1 June 2016: Protests outside the Home Office, in Parliament Square, and Mike Buchanan’s arrest

Our thanks to E for editing this piece (video, 16:38) from a number of video sources, including his own. The (Kiwi) policeman who arrested me was the personification of charm and patience, and the ensuing couple of hours were not without their comic moments. He was accompanied by a young policewoman, and at the police station I was taken to, he gently prompted her to give a verbal account of events preceding my arrest to the (female) desk sergeant. I wish I had a recording of the ensuing scene, which went like this:

Policewoman: Mr Buchanan stepped out into the road into the path of oncoming traffic, despite my colleague having warned him many times that if he did that, he’d be arrested.

Desk Sergeant: Where did the arrest take place?

Policewoman: Trafalgar Square.

Policeman (eyes closed): Parliament Square.

Policewoman (stony-faced): Parliament Square.

You can’t buy memories like that.

We’re hoping to invest in a high-spec video camera, radio microphones etc., so the quality of our videos and associated audio will rise sharply. If you’d like to support the purchase of this equipment with a donation, we should be very grateful. You can do so here. Thank you.

Paul Elam’s interview of Warren Farrell

Five days ago Paul Elam had a Google Hangout with Warren Farrell – here (video, 1:13:55). It’s worth watching all the way through, and at 33:18 the two start talking about the Presidential race, and Warren defends his decision to publicly endorse Hillary Clinton. At 1:05:24 Paul Elam explains why he could never do such a thing.

At a couple of points Paul states that there were only three days left to purchase tickets for the conference, which was true at the time, but we subsequently decided to continue selling the few remaining tickets.

Two teenage girls (13, 14) in Newcastle admit kidnapping a two-year-old girl, and trying to kidnap another

Our thanks to Stuart for this. An extract:

A previous hearing in April heard a tablet computer was found containing searches for “rape”, “people getting raped”, “young people getting raped”, “poor little thing getting kidnapped and raped”.

At a youth court hearing in North Shields, District Judge Roger Elsey adjourned the case for reports to be made, saying there was some “very concerning material on the tablet that was recovered”.

“That is going to have to inform the assessment of dangerousness,” he said.

The teenagers, from Tyneside, had been charged with kidnap with the intention of committing a sexual offence but this was dropped after the prosecution accepted a plea to the alternative charge of kidnap.

Stuart writes:

There was a tragic well known case we all remember that involved the kidnap and murder of a toddler by two boys far younger than these girls. They were not treated lightly.

These two girls had the charge reduced to kidnap.

I wonder what their sentences will be.
