1. I agree with her.
   The majority of mothers (I’m child free by choice, and actively avoid other people’s children) want to be with their children; and from a managerial viewpoint I would rather have someone who wants to be in the workplace and prioritises the job rather than a part timer only present in body with one eye upon the clock. In other words, a pregnant woman should lose her rights to preferential retention, and it should be lawful to offer severance.
   It is high time that this desire to be with one’s children was recognised, that less educated men were made marriageable once more, and in those particular socio economic groups it means supporting men’s pay at the expense of women’s.
   We also need to remove the incentives for welfare childbearing, but that’s another story.

3. like it or not, a society is at its most efficient, most productive and most fair when everyone is doing what they are most suited for. And like it or not, men are more suited for full time jobs than women, and women are more suited for fulltime parenting than men. It was always like this and it always will be. Who are we kidding ?
