    If true, then this is what WILL happen when there is political pressure from the top to get rape convictions up by any means – if not fair then foul.

    What if the girl had not recanted? This young lad, barely started on life, would have quite likely adopted the attitude that since he was now a serious criminal he might as well contine in that line and take on society at it’s own game.
    A wasted life convictions and prison would follow, and it would be understandable if he reasoned that as he’d already done the time he might as well do the crime – perhaps multiple times by way of revenge.
    Witness the culpable stupidity of the law

    Because they are coddled all their lives and insulated from accountability, that’s why.

  5. The accountability of women ,or the lack of it, is the most important reason why the situation has become so anti-male, anti-boy. Now which custom and tradition tells us to be so lenient towards women? You guessed it, the gentleman one. Therefore, it is the root of the problem and as long as men are made to believe they have to pamper women, excuse women, be extra lenient towards women, believe everything they claim, the false accusations, sky high incarcerations of men, phony convictions, quotas and equality drives will not only continue, they will be accelerating, as they have been.. Time for western men to reconsider how they treat women.
