Today, International Women’s Day, was an interesting one. I was on Iain Dale’s show on LBC at 18:00, and at about 15:50 I was filmed in a Bedford park by Sky News. I couldn’t see the two women with whom I was having a discussion, I could only hear them through an earpiece. The interviewer was Kay Burley, the other guest Jenny Garrett. The ‘About Me’ section on her website starts:
Jenny’s mission is to transform the world for everyone, one empowered woman at a time.
You know the type. The discussion went on for 15+ minutes, and I became justifiably heated at times (the light rain had a cooling effect).
My thanks to Claire for pointing me to a piece subsequently posted by HuffPo, with a short extract. I’ve left a comment, and invite you to do likewise. The full piece will be published on our YouTube channel in due course.
Ignoring everything else, if Burley was a “total pro” she might have attempted to be a tiny bit neutral instead of turning it into a BBC-style 2 vs 1.
Here’s the full debate (you have to scroll half way down the page to get to it): http://news.sky.com/story/1655162/work-and-motherhood-seeking-the-right-balance
It’s not showing for me. They probably have one of these sinister comments system where if you’re the person who posted the comment you see it whereas it’s censored for everyone else. This stops the victims of censorship realising it has even happened to them.
If they’re going to censor comments I suggest you use an archive and don’t link to their shitty site.
Still there, Jim, I responded to the first commenter.
Mike, they may have removed your comment on the article, unless I’m just missing it somehow.
