Jess Phillips MP will be on tonight’s Newsnight

A truly pathetic whiny Twitter stream from Jess Phillips – here. Predictably, this odious sexist bigot supported Yvette Cooper in her bid to become the new Labour leader. From Ms Phillips’s Twitter stream:

Emily Thornberry ‏@EmilyThornberry 1h1 hour ago
A brilliant, articulate, charismatic woman MP, another target of violent sexism trolls

Yes, that Emily Thornberry.

Then there’s a gem from Mrs Balls, or as she prefers to be known for some reason, Yvette Cooper.

We can be sure the reliably anti-male and feminist-friendly Newsnight will stick with a narrative of Jess Phillips being a doughty ‘survivor’ of Twitter rape threats, not a narrative of a men-hating MP mocking issues impacting adversely on the the lives of half the population of the UK, including half the voters in her constituency. If there’s any justice in politics, in May 2020 her political career will come to a ignominious end.

It is my firm conviction that this media frenzy was planned by Ms Phillips and her odious feminist colleagues in a bid to avert an discussion on men’s issues on International Men’s Day in the House of Commons – for a feminist, a terrifying prospect – but that it’s backfiring, whatever the BBC might do.

Many people who yesterday were unaware of just how much feminists hate men and boys are today aware of it.

Alison Saunders’s response to our FOI request – now a week overdue

It isn’t only Theresa May MP, Home Secretary, who is struggling with our FOI requests. Alison Saunders, Director of Public Prosecutions, failed to respond by the required deadline to our FOI request asking for minutes of meetings she’s had since she took on her role, with organizations advocating for victims of domestic and/or sexual abuse. Her response is now a week overdue.

Our letter is here, and in a moment I’ll alert the Crown Prosecution Service to this blog post.

In line with our position on the failure of Theresa May to respond to our FOI request asking why the police aren’t bringing prosecutions in relation to MGM, when MGM is unquestionably illegal, we’ll post a blog piece each week on the delay by Alison Saunders, until we get a response.

J4MB anti-MGM placards for the Parliament Square protest on International Men’s Day

On 19 November, International Men’s Day, we’ll be supporting Men Do Complain and protesting against MGM in Parliament Square. For the first time we’ll be employing sizeable J4MB-branded weatherproof placards, and our award-winning graphics design team has come up with this. We’ll change the image as the design evolves in response to feedback. Let us know what you think of it. Thanks.

Jess Phillips MP is a sexist bigot

Our thanks to Ken for this. Ms Phillips’s shameful comments when responding to Philip Davies’s application for a debate on men’s issues on International Men’s Day clearly reflected her personal utter disinterest in men’s issues – issues affecting half her electors – and her obsession with women’s issues. From the article:

The MP previously worked helping women who had been abused or were victims of violence.

In her role as a Birmingham councillor she was also chair of a group bringing together the council, police and other agencies to reduce violence against women, which involved examining cases of women in the region who had been killed.

“I have spent my career working with women who have been beaten, raped and exploited. What all failed to understand in the debate, is that women are beaten and raped exactly because they have less value in society. To me it was not about money and wages it was about worth. So as the government marched through the no lobby [in relation to a proposed Labour motion on pay transparency] it felt like we women were worthless. So who can we blame when this week two of us, the worthless, are murdered?”

Gender Equity Network

Last night I attended a most interesting presentation by John Barry, at UCL, on the topic of Athena SWAN, the taxpayer-funded initiative designed to bully scientific research bodies into preferencing women for positions, regardless of their merit, or lack of it. The presentation was video recorded, along with the Q&A session and brief interviews of a few people including Patrick Smyth of Men Do Complain and myself.

This was the first presentation on behalf of the Gender Equity Network, and on December 10 Karen Woodall is scheduled to give a presentation. We wish the venture every success.

John Barry’s reflections on last night are here.
