Globe-trotting granny who travelled the world catching some of the world’s biggest fish netted £45,000 benefits by claiming she was too ill to dress herself. Batty judge gives her a suspended sentence.

My thanks to a number of people who, having read our piece on the BBC feminist propaganda programme about angling – here – reminded me of this.

The appropriately-named Judge Batty QC – Paul Batty – handed Heather Rimmer (61) a suspended sentence. What are the chances? There’s nothing in the article to suggest she was required to repay so much as a penny of the £45,000 she embezzled through her benefits fraud.
