My thanks to John for alerting me to this video from MeanderingMind, two minutes of extracts from a discussion I had last year on London Live, a television channel owned by the Russian who also owns The Independent and Evening Standard.

The video starts with part of the Skype contribution of a young female engineering student who is adamant we ‘need’ more female engineers and more female board members in major companies such as Rolls-Royce, despite herself studying… well, you’ll have to watch the video to find out. Suffice to say I was watching her contribution on a large monitor, along with the presenter and the two feminists I was debating with, and when she revealed what she was studying, the presenter closed her eyes, shook her head slowly, and said quietly:
Oh… dear… God…

This gem of a video has had over 1.25 million ‘hits’, 37,000+ upvotes from people with a sense of humour, and about 950 downvotes from feminists. Enjoy.
The Guardian has today published a letter from Ally Fogg and others in relation to the recent CPS report on ‘Violence against Women and Girls, Crime Report 2014/15’. Details here. I’ve posted a comment with a link to the 154-page report on intimate partner violence which we sent to the Home Office last October.
Ally’s already replied to my comment, calling me an overt misogynist, perhaps you’d like to offer a comment?
We applaud every sentence spoken by this courageous young man. It’s time to end the barbaric practice of male genital mutilation on religious and/or cultural grounds.
Sir Nicholas Winton (106), a former stockbroker, has died. He was responsible for saving the lives of almost 700 Czech children (mostly Jewish) by arranging for trains to take them out of Prague just before the outbreak of World War II. They eventually arrived in the UK, and were settled with foster families.
Last night Channel 4 News broadcast a short piece (2:44) on Sir Nicholas, and it’s just been published on our YouTube channel.
A remarkable man, he sought no public acclaim, and was uncomfortable with it when it arrived. His action was only discovered when his wife discovered papers about the matter in the couple’s loft – almost 50 years after the children’s lives were saved.
