Ex-wife of hippy turned wind farm tycoon who became a millionaire AFTER they split wins right to fight for £2million divorce payout… 22 years after their divorce

Our thanks to J for this. OUTRAGEOUS. I could spend an hour commenting on this story, but don’t have time. I note, however, that one of the Supreme Court judges behind this egregious decision is Lady Hale, the only female Supreme Court judge, who’s always wittering on about the ‘need’ for more female judges. Also that the man has already paid £200,000 of his ex-wife’s legal costs, and will have to pay a lot more.

We hope some right-minded female commentators will write about this story.

Women need to start calling out women’s utter shamelessness.

Given how toxic marriage has been for men for 30+ years, our advice remains unchanged, as per one of our websites, Men shouldn’t marry. Any man foolish enough to be contemplating marriage should put up a couple of images – here and here – where he lives and works. We feel sure the potential future wife wouldn’t object.

  1. It certainly is outrageous and grievous, but it needs to be borne in mind that the purpose of divorce payments always was the transfer of money and assets from men to women, since it was men’s legal obligation to provide for women.
This was the purpose – fairness and justice never came into it. That’s how skewed the law is – it’s that bad.

  2. It was discussed on Radio 2 this lunchtime – and it was noticeable that, on the related Facebook page, I couldn’t find ANYBODY (male or female) who supported the judgement. Various hues of incredulity were the order of the day. How unpopular can a decision be?

  3. Just a thought, but I was taken by a comment under a related Telegraph article:
‘Well this is excellent news for JK Rowling’s ex-husband! A Portuguese fella. They split up before she wrote Harry Potter and she’s now worth close to a billion £’s. Never mind a mortgage-free house, I reckon he’s entitled to the whole of Hogwarts!’
What chance he’s thinking of making a claim and that he would be successful?
