Chris McGovern is the estimable Chairman of the Campaign for Real Education, launched in 1987. Nicky Morgan is the woeful Secretary of State for Education – also the Minister for Women and Equalities, give me strength – who replaced Michael Gove, one of the very few conviction politicians in the cabinet, in a characteristically cynical attempt by Dave to court ‘women’s votes’. Ms Morgan was 15 when Campaign for Real Education was launched. An article by the former about the latter has to be worth reading, and it is.
Ms Morgan won her seat (Loughborough) with a majority of fewer than 4,000 votes in 2010. We hope to field a candidate to challenge her. I’ll be challenging her opposite number as Minister for Women and Equalities, Gloria De Piero, in Ashfield.
