Woman (41) runs up £40,000 debt due to fashion shopping ‘addiction’

Our thanks to Steve for this. There was a time when women held themselves accountable for their actions and inactions… as men did – and still do, there being no alternative option for men. No longer. Today a woman in the position of this one cannot be judged to be greedy. No, she must have a shopping ‘addiction’, and therefore bear no responsibility for her actions. Women who spend money they (or their hapless partners) cannot afford on shopping are ‘addicts’? Wow. This must be the ultimate gravy-train for therapists and psychologists.

  1. Current buzzword in the domestic violence industry here in NZ is ‘economic abuse’. I’d say that you could argue that the woman is the economic abuser because she spends the family money and the man one because he tries to stop it. More dosh for stupid arguments in the family court.

  2. Andrew(Husband) does his bit to help his wife. Basically man to the rescue again. But of course that gets a mention en passant because it’s all about her and her addiction. Poor her . Don’t suppose Andrew minds not having a home.

  3. strangely, and fortunately,it rarely happens to men. Personally,I would not want someone with a fashion shopping addiction to run my country, nor a company. My intuition tells me such people are too self-centered to entrust anything of great importance to…..
