MSNBC is an online ‘thing’ – I can’t be bothered to find out more – owned by NBC, a big American ‘thing’. One of MSNBC’s (male) ‘journalists’ apparently wrote a scurrilous piece about the Detroit conference which AVfM is challenging, and if MSNBC responds, we’ll bring you that. In the meantime we have a video from MSNBC in which a woman with the IQ of a dim fruitbat interviews a woman with the IQ of a dim wombat about the Detroit conference. Enjoy.

Time for some battery recharging…
It’s been a busy few months, and it’s time to recharge the batteries. Tomorrow I’ll be flying off for a break in my favourite city in the world, returning on Friday. The office will be closed for four days, but please keep sending in links to interesting materials, and I’ll look through them on my return. Thank you.
Government launches £30m fund to get women into engineering
We’ve reported at length the Brunel University £22,750 sponsorships for female engineering postgraduates, awarded on the basis of gender alone, an initiative which could cost long-suffering taxpayers almost a million pounds. Our thanks to Rick for sending us a link to this piece, introducing it with this comment:
Makes the Brunel thing seem like small beer. Sorry to ruin your Sunday evening.
The leaflet we distributed at the Detroit conference
The Detroit conference represented a remarkable networking opportunity, and I – along with three British delegates, two of whom are supporters and donors of J4MB – had conversations with many speakers and delegates. Just before the start of the first day of the conference, we put a copy of this leaflet on the chairs of hundreds of delegates. Many delegates later told me they’d found it useful.
When is murder manslaughter? When a woman commits it.
A shocking article about a trial in New Zealand. The woman was charged with murder but found guilty of manslaughter. It seems she could be out of prison in two years. That’s how cheap her partner’s life is to the justice system.
The position is even worse in the UK. A woman only has to claim that she was fearful of her partner – she need furnish no evidence that her fear was justified – and the charge will automatically be downgraded to manslaughter, because of a change in the law introduced by the last Labour administration. The bottom line? Through lenient sentencing for female murderers, the state encourages women to kill their partners.
Paul Elam: ‘Is Doubletree Downtown Hilton Dangerously Negligent, or Just a Bunch of Scheming Liars?’
The recent conference was to be held in a Hilton hotel in Detroit. Paul Elam has just posted this ‘behind the scenes’ account of why the venue had to be changed.
Angry Harry’s reflections on the Detroit Conference
There are a number of British MRAs I hope will be attending future AVfM conferences, and at the top of my list would be Angry Harry and ManWomanMyth. So I was very interested to hear Angry Harry’s first podcast, just published by AVfM. In the comments stream Tom Golden makes the excellent suggestion of adding a link below email signatures to a forthcoming page on AVfM, relating to the Detroit conference. I shall be doing so myself.
Paul Elam on Weekend Sunrise Australia
An interesting interview on Australia’s leading morning TV programme.
Jennifer Butler: June 2014 Entitlement Princess of the Month
An American gentleman runs a website which has for some time presented ‘Entitlement Princess of the Month’ awards, which inspired us to launch a number of awards including:
– Whiny Woman of the Month

– Gormless Woman of the Month
Jennifer Butler, the new Entitlement Princess of the Month award winner, is British. Her story is here. She’s a worthy winner.
Anil Kumar reports some good news from India
The Detroit conference drew speakers and delegates from across the world. I had the pleasure of meeting an Indian gentleman, Anil Kumar. He’s just had this inspirational article published by AVfM.
