Frank Furedi: ‘Keep the emotion police out of family life’

An excellent new piece by Frank Furedi for Spiked.

About Mike Buchanan

I'm a men's human rights advocate, writer, and publisher. My primary focus is leading the political party I launched in 2013, Justice for Men & Boys (and the women who love them). I still work actively on two campaigns I launched in early 2012, Campaign for Merit in Business and the Anti-Feminism League. In 2014 I launched The Alternative Sexism Project, aiming to raise public understanding that the sexism faced by men and boys has far more grievous consequences than the sexism faced by women and girls.

  • Furedi is very perceptive. Though the enforcers will be in Town halls not Westminster. A fund raising stunt, it is a distraction from the lamentable record of the agencies paid( including NSPCC services under contract to local authorities) to police the current laws. Starting with Birminingham Council( England’ s biggest) the nation is littered with children’s in “Special Measures” as they wrestle with the consequences of the epidemic of family breakdown. Manifestly unable to protect children from neglect, violence and torture the attempt to police the emotional nuances seems a fantasy , or nightmare.
