Detroit Conference on Men’s Issues – our Xmas appeal

Followers of this blog can be in no doubt about our deep admiration of the most-visited and most influential men’s human rights advocacy website in the world, A Voice for Men (‘AVfM’) Next June AVfM will be hosting the world’s first international conference on men’s issues, in Detroit, as we reported recently:

In the course of a recent Skype conversation with Paul Elam, the founder and publisher of AVfM, Paul invited me – as the leader of the only men’s human rights political party in the world, to the best of our knowledge – to make a presentation at the conference. Needless to say, I accepted without reservation. It will be a great opportunity to spread our message, and the presentation will be video recorded. Our vision is for many countries to have political parties fighting for the human rights of men and boys.

AVfM have generously agreed to fund my hotel accommodation, and the taxis between the airport and the hotel, so all I need to raise now is the cost of the flights, and train fares to and from the airport in the UK. This should come to a little under £1,000 but only if we can raise the money soon. The longer it takes to raise the sum, the higher the cost of the flights.

We haven’t made an appeal for donations for some time, but I’m appealing to you now to help us raise £1,000 to enable J4MB to have a voice at this historic event. I invite you to contribute through the link below:

There’s only 18 months to go before the 2015 general election, and you can be sure the people driving J4MB – none of whom earn a penny from donations, indeed we’re all financial donors to the party – will be working even harder in those 18 months than they did since the party was registered just 10 months ago. It’s been an incredible 10 months. Thank you for generously supporting our efforts to make the UK a better place for men and boys (and the women who love them).

Finally, I’d like to take this opportunity to wish you and your loved ones a Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year. I hope 2014 will turn out to be a wonderful year for you all.

About Mike Buchanan

I'm a men's human rights advocate, writer, and publisher. My primary focus is leading the political party I launched in 2013, Justice for Men & Boys (and the women who love them). I still work actively on two campaigns I launched in early 2012, Campaign for Merit in Business and the Anti-Feminism League. In 2014 I launched The Alternative Sexism Project, aiming to raise public understanding that the sexism faced by men and boys has far more grievous consequences than the sexism faced by women and girls.

Four-hour contract, minimum wage. That’s what you get Mike when you’re foolish enough to represent marginalised men ;-), but I’ll see if I can find some loose change. Let’s hope David Cameron gets hammered in the divorce courts then we’ll see some real money coming into the movement.

    • Many thanks. Very few of our donors are well-off. Many are students, pensioners, men and women on the minimum wage etc. People with some compassion for the men, women, and children who are relentlessly assaulted by the actions and inactions of the state at the behest of a tiny proportion of women (gender feminists).

      • I hope you get the fare. And thank you for all your efforts Mike and J4MB. I am pleased you point out that the assault is by a small but powerful lobby of feminists(male and female). Supported by the larger ideology of identity politics(broadly special positive discrimintation for any group that can claim to be oppressed). Cutting through this web does require a return to first principles of equity and moral equality.

      • Thanks Nigel. Donations are starting to come in at an encouraging rate.
