I was intrigued to be alerted this afternoon to an interesting article published in the Independent a couple of weeks ago. It was penned by Natasha Devon and titled, “Behold the mythical ‘Anti-Feminist’!”
A google search led me to Ms Devon’s website http://www.bodygossip.org/ where I’ve just left the following comment:
Natasha, good afternoon. A supporter has just pointed me towards your article published in the Independent on 1 August. The Anti-Feminist you describe is indeed ‘mythical’:
The much hyped – but never empirically witnessed – Anti-Feminist is of course a man. He reads lads’ magazines and not only believes the women within its pages represent a paradigm of ultimate beauty, but that all other women should look and dress like them.
More interesting than mythical Anti-Feminists (AFs) are real AFs. In a number of developed countries there’s a rapidly growing number of men and women who self-identify as AFs and men’s human rights advocates (MHRAs) and support organisations such as my political party Justice for men & boys (and the women who love them) http://j4mb.org.uk and the associated Anti-Feminism League http://fightingfeminism.wordpress.com and Campaign for Merit in Business http://c4mb.wordpress.com. The following is a minute cross-section of blogs and websites of interest to AFs and MHRAs:
Should you ever wish to write a substantive article concerning anti-feminism and/or the men’s human rights movement, please feel free to email me (firstname.lastname@example.org) or call me (07967 026163) and I’ll do what I can to supply information, or direct you to others who might help. In the meantime I’ll put up a post about your Independent article on our blogs, along with this comment.
