Perhaps the most powerful weapon in the feminist’s armoury is shame. Men should be ashamed of this, that, and the other. The reality is that if men were to feel a collective emotion for what men have achieved since the dawn of humankind, that emotion should surely be pride, not shame.
Along with other men’s human rights activists, I long ago rejected the notion that I should feel shame for being a man. Women don’t accept collective responsibility for the actions or inactions of a small number of evil women, and quite rightly too. Why, then, should men accept collective responsibility for the actions or inactions of a small number of evil men? They shouldn’t.
