End violence against women…

We recently published a post concerning 286 academic studies and reports showing women are as aggressive, or more aggressive, towards their intimate partners, compared with men:

http://atomic-temporary-215937230.wpcomstaging.com/2013/05/08/women-are-as-physically-aggressive-or-more-aggressive-in-their-relationships-with-spouses-or-male-partners/

We also know that men are far less likely than women to report being the victims of domestic abuse/violence. Yesterday we published a post on this blog and http://fightingfeminism.wordpress.com with a link to an image of a battered man on the Facebook page of Men’s Rights UK:

While I could personally reach the image through the link, supporters in both the US and UK told me they couldn’t do so – within an hour of my original post being published. I honestly didn’t know if this was the result of censorship by Facebook – there’s been much coverage of Facebook’s actions with respect to MHR sites in recent times – or if there was a more innocent explanation. It turns out the latter was the case. Men’s Rights UK is a ‘closed’ group, and you need to apply to join. I understand a number of people have already done exactly that, as a result of wishing to view the image, and I encourage others to join the group. Here’s the image:

  1. Thanks for the update, Mike. Even though it turns out this was a false alarm in this case, we will need to be vigilant about noticing and countering feminists censoring ideas on Facebook. It is good to see “the Streisand effect” starting to come into play on some of these wrongly-censored posts.
