Apparently it’s projected to be the Xmas #1 single, but the Commie B***ards at the BBC aren’t giving it any exposure, predictably. Our thanks to a supporter for this. Good to see the relentlessly left-wing BBC troubled at the prospect of Elon Musk donating a large sum to Reform UK. An extract:
“The Reform UK leader, now back from Florida, told me the suggestion Musk might give his party $100m (£78m) was wildly over the top. But a number much smaller than that could still be very big, and game-changing for Reform’s prospects. The question is whether it would be legal [J4MB: Nonsense. It would be perfectly legal if paid through the British wing of X.] – and whether it would be seen as legitimate.
The All Party Parliamentary Group on Fair Elections says it wouldn’t and wants the law changed.
Downing Street says the government has committed to strengthening the rules, which currently allow donations from UK registered companies. The danger for the government is any change in the law might look like self-interest and changing the rules of the game half way through. [J4MB: No shit, Sherlock.]
But never before have we seen a man as rich, with a megaphone as large, so enthused about strutting the political stage – abroad as well as at home. That poses profound questions about how much influence and from where is judged to be too much influence from too far away.” [J4MB: In contrast to the BBC wielding too much influence from the UK.]
The APPG has nothing to say about the ridiculous consequences of the “first past the post” electoral system. At the last election Reform UK secured 4+ million votes and five MPs. None are on select committees. The Lib Dems secured fewer than 3 million votes and 72 MPs, and Lib Dem MPs are on every select committee. The APPG has four members and is chaired by a Labour MP. Of course it’s hostile to the idea of a large donation by Elon Musk to Reform UK. Hopefully Musk will make that donation shortly.

Italian caver Ottavia Piana rescued after 75 hours trapped underground. Second time she’s been rescued from the same cave…

“An injured explorer trapped underground in a cave in northern Italy for four days was carried to safety on Wednesday.
Ottavia Piana, 32, fell while attempting to map an unexplored branch of the Bueno Fonteno cave in the province of Bergamo.
Piana suffered multiple fractures, including to her face, ribs and knee, when she fell 5 meters (13 feet) while exploring an uncharted part of the cave on Saturday, doctors said…
Nearly 160 technicians from 13 Italian regions assisted in the round-the-clock rescue launched at midnight on Saturday, after being alerted by members of Piana’s team that she was injured and trapped deep inside the tunnel.
Piana’s rescuers said that the explorer herself encouraged the team…
Once Piana was rescued from the cave, a helicopter transported her to Bergamo hospital. Despite her various injuries, she is in stable condition, according to authorities.
Wednesday’s rescue marked the second time in 17 months that Piana had to be rescued from the cave near Lago d’Iseo northeast of Bergamo.” [J4MB emphasis. Doubtless she’ll also be rescued on her future expeditions, at huge cost and risk to the rescuers, almost all of whom will (inevitably) be men. Maybe it’s time she accepted she’s not very good at caving?]
