Amateur angler Darren Reitz, 34, who had entire day without a bite, lands the UK’s biggest ever fish (143lb) by rod in freshwater after changing his bait before he was about to leave

Interesting. The largest freshwater fish caught by a woman in the UK, Naomi Turner, was only 72lb, about half the weight of the largest caught by a man – here.

Tabitha Richardson, 83, Newport loan shark, ordered to repay £173,195.92

Interesting. So the ‘punishment’ for illegally profiting to the tune of £173,195.92 over 20 years is… er… to pay back the money, not a penny more. Whilst unwelcome to her, how is that ‘punishment’? And what message does it send, to other women in particular? An extract:

“Judge Hywel James said that if the money was not repaid within three months she could face a jail term of one year and nine months. [J4MB: She ‘could’ face the jail term, but she won’t. What judge is going to sentence an 82yo woman to jail for such a crime? And even if she did serve the sentence, that’s not a bad alternative to paying £173,195.92, is it? Why is there not a compulsory selling order on her house to secure the money?]

In 2023 Richardson was given a two year sentence, suspended for two years. [J4MB emphasis]”

Fiamengo File returns (update)

[Update 3.10.25: We’re delighted to report that Steve Brule’s original YouTube channel, taken down by YouTube some years ago, has been reinstated, along with episodes of Fiamengo File and No Joke Janice here.]

Some years ago YouTube took down Steve Brule’s original channel, including the playlist of 130+ videos constituting the first series of Fiamengo File, featuring Professor Janice Fiamengo. I’m delighted to report that following a recent conversation with Steve, he’s started uploading those videos to his new YouTube channel, the Fiamengo File playlist is here. Janice’s Substack articles are also very well worth catching, here.

Janice was the keynote speaker at the 2024 International Conference on Men’s Issues, her talk title Calling a Moratorium on Women’s Tears: How Women Use the Accountability Gap to Manipulate Men and Why Men Must Resist It (36:17). A playlist of all the conference videos since 2014 is on our YouTube channel here, and on Paul Elam’s YouTube channel (116,000+ subscribers) here.

Fiona Beal admits murdering and burying partner in Northampton

Our thanks to Steve for this. An extract:

“It can now be reported that the original trial collapsed after a legal mistake, when it emerged Rachel Drummond, a key defence witness, was a court custody officer who had conducted welfare checks on Beal in her cells.

Ms Drummond had given evidence which, in the words of original judge Adrienne Lucking KC, described observing a relationship that had the hallmarks of abuse, although she had not seen Beal for about seven years.

But after Ms Drummond’s employment became known during cross-examination – Judge Lucking said there was no way to “ensure a fair verdict and a safe conviction”.
