Jordanian asylum seeker, 27, who assaulted a female police officer after drunkenly pestering female joggers is spared community service due to ‘health and safety issues’

Lost for words (Mail, £). The start of the piece:

“An asylum seeker who assaulted a female police officer cannot do community service because it would be against health and safety rules, a court heard.

Jordanian national Mustafa Al Mbaidin cannot speak English and would need a full-time translator with him if he were to do a period of unpaid work which would raise ‘issues’ with the health and safety at work laws, his lawyer argued. [J4MB: Why would he require a f/t translator to do jobs such as picking up litter?]

Instead the 27-year-old was fined £26 for the offence of assaulting an emergency worker which he will pay at a rate of £2 a month.”

The King’s speech

Our thanks to Martin for the following.

“The text of the King’s speech is here. The end of paragraph 12:

“My Government will bring forward plans to halve violence against women and girls.”

For context, the Government has an objective to halve ‘serious violence’, see page 56, bullet 1 of the background material (104 pages). Further detail on page 59 , bullets 2,3, page 62, bullets 2 (especially sub-bullet 2), 3, and page 63, bullets 4,5.

As far as ‘violence against women and girls’ specifically is concerned, questions which may be of interest to J4MB supporters include:

  1. What happens to ‘Male victims of Crimes considered to be violence against women and girls’, by the Home Office, are those victims therefore to be included in the target to halve these offences , (given those offences include some particularly heinous crimes?), and
  2. Will men and boys be protected from all acts (of gender based violence) ‘that result in, or are likely to result in physical, sexual, psychological, or economic harm or suffering..’ (Istanbul Convention Article 3(a) extract), by being included in the halving target?”

Elizabeth Hobson’s reflections on Kimberly Cheatle, Director of the United States Secret Service

Two days ago, in the wake of the failed assassination attempt against Donald Trump, we published Kimberly Cheatle, Director of the United States Secret Service. There can be no doubt that the attempt represents a nearly catastrophic failure by the US Secret Service. Eli, a former leader of J4MB when we were a political party, writes:

“The Cheetoh Lady who runs the Secret Service told an interviewer that they actually did recognise that the now infamous roof was a vulnerability – but they decided that they could not post snipers up there because it has a slight slant, and that’s just not within Health and Safety requirements for Secret Service operatives, apparently. Glenn Greenwald made a hilarious point: not only was Ree Tardy Oswald able to climb up and do what he needed to quite safely, but even when he was finally fucking shot, his corpse didn’t roll a fucking inch!

Is it because they’re all in heels now? I must admit, sometimes I struggle standing on flat ground in mine.

She might be better suited to the HR dept!”
