“Ex-Corrie actor Sean Wilson – I want to ask where is his “justice”? This mirrors my own case, accused, investigated but never charged. As bad as this is, it could have been a lot worse and this is not lost on me every day wrt my own false rape accusation.
The complainant will have been called a “victim” all through this investigation, a sexual offence (which may never have happened) will have been recorded in the home office crime statistics and will appear in official records, the complainant will also be eligible for tax payer funded compensation under the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority. All good if you can get it, but men falsely accused get nothing – no support anywhere from anyone.
And it looks like he has lost future work because of it. I hope he takes some legal action against ITV because it seems there could be a claim here for unfair dismissal – this is a really important point about the presumption of innocence, really he could bring a very important employment law test case here if what he is saying really happened.”

My name is Carlos, and I am a victim of false accusations that have devastated my life and family. As someone who has endured the immense personal and legal challenges stemming from these unfounded claims, I want to bring attention to the recent developments in Argentina that could serve as a turning point for all of us fighting against false accusations, especially in the context of parental alienation.
Argentina’s Justice Minister, Mariano Cúneo Libarona, has recently supported a pioneering legislative proposal to impose stricter penalties on false accusations, particularly in cases of gender violence, sexual abuse, and crimes involving minors. These reforms aim to restore trust in the justice system and prevent the misuse of legal processes that often leave innocent individuals, like myself, fighting for years to clear their names.
I believe this movement has the potential to inspire similar initiatives in other countries. By sharing this story and the groundbreaking efforts happening in Argentina, I hope to spark conversations and encourage organizations and governments globally to pursue meaningful legal reforms that protect both genuine victims and those wrongfully accused.

“The Morris Marina blog piece prompted me to find out where things are up to with regard to the NZ navy ship that sank. Lo and behold it was apparently because it autopiloted itself aground. There are three crew members under investigation for such negligence that sank one of the tiny NZ Navy. Somehow I’m willing to bet that the woman captain won’t be in the frame for this somewhat comical episode of a ship sinking itself.”

Laura Perrins’s piece on TCW today. I think it’s a dreadful piece, man-blaming and woman-excusing, but the comments stream is well worth catching, much of it critical of the article. I’ve posted the following comments, they were immediately (automatically?) held for moderation, and will hopefully appear in due course. They take up the remainder of this blog piece:
“It says a lot about him even before we get to what he did to Nikita Hand, namely pin her to a bed, put her in choke hold, rape her and caused such brutal injury she needed invasive surgical intervention.”
ALLEGEDLY. This whole article is driven by the conviction that men need to take responsibility for their own actions and inactions (which is fair enough) BUT also for women’s actions and inactions (which isn’t fair enough – do women want to be treated as adults or children, or does that depend on the context? A rhetorical question, of course.). Women mustn’t be held accountable for their actions including those following drug taking (alcohol and cocaine in this case, I believe).
On our website we have a constant stream of articles about women not facing punishment for criminal actions, the latest a 27yo woman who walked free after trying to smuggle £150,000 worth of cannabis into the country to pay off personal debts resulting from living beyond her means.
From a report in the Irish Times:
“Following the Garda investigation into Hand’s claims, a file was sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) who decided in June 2020 there was insufficient evidence to prosecute. Hand, with the support of Dublin Rape Crisis Centre, sought a review but the decision was upheld.
The DPP, who carried out the review herself, told Hand a high standard of proof, beyond reasonable doubt, applies in a criminal case and she considered there was “no reasonable prospect” of conviction of either McGregor or Lawrence.”
So the woman took out a civil action, where the burden of proof is lower, to get McGregor convicted and get her money. It’s long overdue for people to have anonymity in relation to sex offence charges until and unless convicted. Doubtless many men have paid out huge sums in response to threats of allegations, Donald Trump included.
William Collins in his epic book “The Empathy Gap: Male Disadvantages and the Mechanisms of Their Neglect” (ebook under £5.00) reveals (using only official stats) that 77 per cent of rape allegations made by women to the police are false.

Yesterday we posted a piece titled Nigel Farage suggests MPs should debate rolling back abortion limit. Nigel comments:
“There was a Bill proposed in 2023 on this and debate about inclusion in the Criminal Justice Bill in 2024. Very clearly Nigel Farage is not espousing something new but joining his voice to the many who’d like to see this change Doctors call for MPs to support a reduction in the time limit for abortion | CARE What he has done is open a bit of a sore as members attempts to get this issue properly debated have had to contend with Ministers trying to sidestep it.
Since at least 2006 MPs have been trying to get this debated with Baroness O’Loan’s Bill Abortion (Gestational Time Limit Reduction) Bill [HL] – Parliamentary Bills – UK Parliament the latest attempt, though originating in the Lords means it is unlikely to get Commons Time. The long and tortuous history of this is a master (or perhaps mistress) class in how clever lobbying and committee work can thwart any open debates taking place. In this case from an “early day motion” in 2008!”

Well, this (video, 13:44) has to be one of the most unlikely videos ever recommended to me by YouTube. I cannot with all conscience recommend you watch any of it other than the section 4:57 – 5:23, presumably drawn from an advert for the Morris Marina, and surely contributing significantly to sales. The star of the 26 second clip was one of the most beautiful British actresses of that or any other era, Madeleine Smith. Her appearance in a bath in one of the early 1970s Hammer Horror films remains with me to this day.
Moving swiftly on. Morris Marina models were manufactured by British Leyland over 1971-80, and having owned second-hand examples of both the 1.3 and 1.8 litre models I cannot disagree with the general consensus that it ranks as one of the worst cars ever built. That said, one of my two examples had a very useful feature which I’ve never seen in another car, a manual reversing light. It frequently proved most useful on the fast lane of the M4 during my daily commutes on the M4 between London and my home in Marlow, Bucks. Happy days…
