James Esses: “Driven to Woke: How Enterprise Rent-A-Car’s been captured”

Interesting. I shall never again hire a car from Enterprise Rent-A-Car’s branch at 25 Caxton Road, Bedford MK41 0LF. You do what you can…

Julie Bindel: “What does free speech mean for women?”

Hilarious, one for our associated website Laughing at Feminists. Bindel concludes with this:

“Free speech exists, but only for certain people holding ‘acceptable’ ideas. Feminists speaking out against male violence, [J4MB emphasis: Female violence is okey-dokey, even when inflicted on females, apparently] gender ideology and the harms of pornography are routinely silenced. What underpins the censoring of women like me is nothing short of misogyny.”

This ‘censored’ woman who claims to be the victim of misogyny regularly has articles published in the Mail, Spectator, Unherd and many other mainstream media outlets, as do countless other feminists – outlets which never print articles by anti-feminists.

Javier Milei: Argentina’s Darwinian disruptor (America is watching his revolution closely)

A fascinating piece on Unherd. Extracts:

“This mercurial loner, who once sang in a Rolling Stones covers band, is engaged in a high-risk gamble: to shake his country out of its decades-long stupor by slashing subsidies, sacking public servants, scrapping taxes, shutting ministries, ripping up regulations and privatising scores of state enterprises from airlines and banks through to football clubs and waterways. He has rattled his many foes, who often write him off as a political joke or a poisonous far-Right populist. But as he comes up to the first anniversary of his ascent to power, Milei can point to significant successes in curbing the curse of inflation and shrinking the state…”

This wildly-eccentric yet fiercely-ideological politician knows how to attract attention. During his election campaign, Milei’s interview with Tucker Carlson received 300m views in 24 hours. Musk was among those sharing it on social media, saying it showed how “government overspending, which is the fundamental cause of inflation, has wrecked countless countries”. After his victory, Milei flew to Davos where he argued that the West was in danger from dark forces such as feminism, [J4MB emphasis – spot on!!!] socialism and environmentalism putting its values in jeopardy from a vision “that inexorably leads to socialism and thereby to poverty”. Last month, the 54-year-old firebrand became the first foreign leader to visit Trump after his presidential victory — his attacks on the state, its political sinecures and power hubs have made him a hero among many US conservatives and members of the MAGA crowd…

Others rail against his weaponising of the culture wars and his direct appeal to angry young men frustrated by feminism. One of Milei’s first edicts was to end use of gender-neutral language in government and many of his young and liberal supporters loathe his anti-abortion stance and ambivalence over their nation’s military past.”

Government press release: Secretary of State Wes Streeting commits to first ever men’s health strategy

Our thanks to Ronald H for this. While the announcement is welcome, a review of the document leads me to expect little, if anything, from the development – other than, possibly, some men’s votes for Labour in future elections. An extract:

“Health and Social Care Secretary Wes Streeting has announced plans for a men’s health strategy at a Men’s Health Summit held in partnership with Movember, hosted by Arsenal and the Premier League.”

Movember bills itself as “the leading charity changing the face of men’s health”. The website’s Leadership and Governance page is here. It states, “Movember is governed by a Board of Directors, who delegate part of their work to specialised committees to ensure that the organisation holds itself to the highest standards.” It is the strangest composition of a Board of Directors I’ve ever seen. The “chair” is a man, the remaining seven members are non-executive directors, four of them women.

On the same page you can find the Global Leadership Team, with 16 members, eight of them women, covering the following positions:

  • Chief Executive Officer
  • Chief Operations Officer
  • Chief People Officer
  • Chief Marketing Officer
  • General Counsel and Company Secretary
  • Country Director, UK and Europe
  • Global Director, Young Men’s Health
  • Global Director, Prostate Cancer

An extract from the government press release, from Michelle Terry, CEO of Movember:

“When we improve men’s health, we know that the benefits can ripple through families, communities, societies and the economy. This will transform the lives of men, but also their wives, mothers, sisters, partners, [J4MB emphasis] mates, neighbours, children, teachers and doctors.

Why might the government wish to associate itself with Movember? Possibly because the organisation is completely uncritical of the actions and inactions of governments, including that of the UK, and because it drives narratives that excuse governments from taking action e.g. to prevent male suicide, which only results from “mental ill health” in the sense that men commit suicide when in a state of reactive depression brought on by life events, many of which are the result of government actions and inactions – examples including the denial of access to children after family breakdowns, and street homelessness.

Movember’s page on “Mental Health and Suicide Prevention” is here. It starts with this feminist critique of male suicide:

“The results of poor mental health can be deadly. Globally, a man dies every minute from suicide. Men, regardless of age group, often don’t recognise when they’re experiencing a mental health issue, and may not be comfortable asking for help. The uncomfortable truth is that some stereotypical forms of masculinity are killing men.”

Onto the government press release itself. Statements from Wes Streeting:

“It can be hard to be a young man in today’s society, particularly for boys from backgrounds like mine.”

A denial that life can be “hard” for men of all ages and classes.

“We’re seeing mental ill health on the rise, and the shocking fact that suicide is the biggest killer for men under the age of 50. Preventable killers like heart disease and prostate cancer are being caught far too late.”

The “shocking fact that suicide is the biggest killer for men under the age of 50” has long been the case, and not a recent development of mental ill health being on the rise. No admission that prostate cancer – the cancer causing the deaths of more men than any other, a higher number than deaths of women from breast cancer – is “caught far too late” in large part due to the absence of a national screening programme for it (unlike breast cancer and cervical cancer). No recognition of the need for such a programme, nor any plans to introduce one.

“Just as we are determined to end the injustices women face in healthcare, we won’t shy away from the need to focus on men’s health too.”

Men face far more injustices than women in relation to healthcare, see for example pp.73-5 of our final election manifesto.

Good news. Female CEOs being replaced by men: a sign the City is coming to its senses, at last.

A woeful piece just published by Financial News, actual title, Female CEOs being replaced by men: a sign the City still has work to do on gender equality. Of course it was written by a woman – Clare Dickinson – this extract should suffice to demonstrate her idiocy:

“Of course, companies are going to choose the best person for the job and in some cases that may be the experienced male candidate. [J4MB emphasis : In almost all cases it WILL be.] But if women are supported and given the skills needed to become CEOs then they are more likely to emerge as the frontrunners when there is a vacancy to fill. [J4MB emphasis: So women need to be “supported” and “given the skills needed to become CEOs”. Could we ask for a clearer admission that “women” – with rare exceptions – aren’t “the best person for the job”?] “

Why you should subscribe to Paul Elam’s Substack channel

Paul’s latest Substack article is here. I’ve just taken out a subscription (USD8.00 pcm) on account of a new development he’s announced in the piece. It’s a lengthy article but well worth reading in full. For those pushed for time, extracts:

“By word and deed man hating ideologues still reveal an obvious agenda to harm men and boys on every level of their existence. Oh wait, did I say Ideologues? My bad. It isn’t just ideologues. Statistically speaking, it’s everyone. That scant list of things I mentioned, which is light years from complete, won’t even raise the average eyebrow. Simply put, nobody cares. Either by direct action or omission, everyone is part of the problem…

Our solutions are simple and readily attainable, even as they elude most men. Reject the romantic ethos and the gynocentrism that fuels it. Develop and maintain a values-centered approach to life is fueled by common sense, self-preservation and self-respect. Stop being a slave to women and treat yourself like you actually matter. That’s about the sum of it.

Now, at this point I estimate that I’ve written and published somewhere around a million words on this subject, nearly all of them coming back to those last few points. In fact, I think every all of it boils down to that last, single sentence. Stop being a slave to the women and treat yourself like you actually matter. It’s a simple idea to write about so exhaustively, but that’s what I did…

So, brothers, I said all that to say this. After a good measure of prayer, and a lot of time spent over the keyboard struggling to write, I’ve come to conclude that while my intent was always to challenge blue pill men to reject the social programming that causes so much life damage, what I’ve ended up doing for the past 15 years is singing to the choir. Mind you, it’s a great choir. 24 carat. That includes my Christian and non Christian audience. I’ve enjoyed singing to you more than I can put into words. But as Chaucer wrote, “All that is well must pass.”…

All this doesn’t mean I’m laying aside men’s issues, far from it. Every journey, and this sure feels like one to me, starts with a first step. My first step here is to depart from the kind of essays I’ve been writing for the past 15 years, namely the repeated rehashing of romantic gynocentrism and the appeals to men about valuing their own lives.

Instead, my posts for the foreseeable future will be on the current news cycle, and media analysis as seen through the red pill lens. [J4MB emphasis.] One thing for sure about the times we’re in. There’s no shortage of content. Donald Trump’s been re-elected, in part due to red pill men. The left is having a very public meltdown and identity crisis after the drubbing they just took at the polls. The middle-east is on fire, and we’re closer to a nuclear holocaust than at any time in our history. And, if we don’t get blown to smithereens first, we’re about to see a savage, protracted showdown between serious political disruptors and the administrative state – with everything on the line…

Finally, and in the midst of all this, we are beginning to see the first glimmers of actual resistance to the romantic ethos and much broader acceptance of red pill thinking. For me, this is a very exciting time to be alive. I do believe with all sincerity that we are witnessing the advent of a long-awaited men’s revolution. The things you’ve known for years that the world was oblivious to are finally being ushered into the light.

I want to spend a good bit of time following that revolution and analyzing its impact on the world at large, especially as it plays out in news and media. I hope you’ll stay with me as I move into this next chapter of my work, and that you find my efforts useful, thoughtful, sometimes challenging and always entertaining.

I hope you and yours had a great Thanksgiving and that you’re looking forward to a very merry Christmas.”
